Had a great track team back at Holy Cross in 1970,
Remembering how our classmate, Johnny, could run like the wind,
His nickname of Speedy, of course, says it all,
For he could run so fast,
Of course, he’d always win the 100 yard dash & 440 relay,
I must convey.
After years of being away from San Antonio,
I lost touch with him until late,
Same old Johnny, same old smile and all,
Still same old classmate,
But now he likes to go to UTSA and tailgate.
I’m glad I reconnected with him,
Now know he likes his whiskey with a side of cherries
That our classmates are always trying to take away,
His biting sense of humor still there
But thinking how nobody could catch Speedy back in the day.
Stay well, Brother!

Bobby, Brother Dooling was at one of our Genealogy meetings yesterday talking about The History of Holy Cross. Told him about my cousins that had attended Holy Cross and he remembered you all by name. Sent texts to you but no response. Blessings
Hi Mary! Sorry, you couldn’t reach me, I’ve been a little out of touch lately. Hope you and family are all well.
