The Seasons of My Life

In the Spring of my life,
I met the love and joy of my life,
On a Sunny Ozuna dance in Laredo’s Civic Center;
But, of course, it had to be on the last dance of the night,
Thanking God, for I knew she was the one, with the moon outside shining bright.

Two years later, again in the Spring of my life,
Love continued to grow, we were married, and later blessed with a beautiful child.
In El Paso, in the Army, with little money and nothing else,
But a whole lot of love, we both felt we had succeeded,
Thanking God for our Son, for we knew we had all we needed.

Love continued to grow, but in the Summer of my life,
Brought excitement and joy in a career path
That took us to many different places all over the country,
With many beautiful people that have brought us much joy in life’s route,
Thanking God for enriching us with unique lifetime experiences, no doubt!

Love continued to grow, but now in the Autumn of my life,
I’ve had two major surgeries in one year,
One to get rid of a really agressive prostate cancer,
And one to rid myself of the obstructive sleep apnea kind,
Thank God for keeping me on the road of life, I did well on both combined!

Funny, that I feel that I haven’t yet reached the Winter of my life.
Thanking God for all my many blessings, and for bringing me closer to my wife and Son, and now Chelsea,
Concerts & Spurs season tickets with my Son, hunting at the RC Rancho with him;
Reuniting with my Holy Cross Brothers;
Trips here and there with my wife, Costa Rica with my Son, I will never forget,
Knowing that only God knows what lies ahead, I just can’t wait!
And I’m sure I won’t regret…the last season of my life.

Bob,
10/30/24

  1. Awesome memories-Awesome life Bobby! God has heard your prayers.
    It’s been a great ride. Note how it all comes down to FAMILY, FRIENDS, and
    GOD.
    Stay true to that, and God bless you.

  2. With my beautiful family and God’s love, it has been a great ride, Javier! Thank you for all you’ve done for me and my beautiful family. Love you

  3. Beautiful, “soulful”, and tender. I love your description of your life according to Ecclesiastes, “To everything there is a season …” and all seasons linked by love and gratitude. You pondered deeply. God blessed you with His reassurance of His Providence and Presence in every season of your life. May God “s blessing of peace, joy ad love remain with you!
