While Mattie is talking
His new daughter,
Ellie, is listening,
For she knows that voice
Along with her Mommy’s,
That she heard for nine months.

He’s telling her a whole bunch of things and more;
On what the wonderful future holds for her,
Big plans he has in store,
What her life means to both of them,
Okay Daddy, she says, I got it, that’s sweet,
And, just like that, the circle of life is complete.
