Christmas Memories Old and New

Remembering Christmas from long ago
The house still looks the same from the outside on 38th Street
But inside the tree was up, with Frank, Bill, and me still with little feet,
Eddie was still a baby on the floor,
But inside the sound of kids playing, laughing, four boys
Playing with their new toys.

Another Christmas memory in El Paso,
Pretty cold, with much snow,
With our little tree up, in the Army with times and money pretty lean,
But with much love, two sweethearts and a new baby boy smiling,
In a small apartment, warm and cozy,
So what else could we want?

Now another Christmas on Granite Creek
Where our boy was almost half grown
We had the tree up and smell of cooked turkey was in the air
Blessed with all we had back then
Still blessed to have Dad and Mom at the table with us here
With much love crystal clear.

Present day Christmas on Toulouse Street
Turkey still cooking, with much love still going
With my bride of 50 still going strong
Much love for her, my Son, and Chelsea now.
Dad and Mom are gone but life is still sweet now with no strife,
Thanking God for our great life.
