I imagine today that Raul is surrounded by all his heavenly brothers, his sister, his Mom & Dad, and more.
Before he passed, they looked down at him from heaven,
To the last one from a great Collazo generation,
All were so individual, so memorable and yet all so sweet.
Raul was the last of the eleven born in Laredo; one of a kind, & a real character unique.
Served his country honorably in the Air Force, Korea, and worked as a sheet metal mechanic at Kelly AFB for years;
Married his sweetheart, & together started life,
Had kids, grandkids and blessings beyond compare,
Making a life so sweet,
And quite complete.
I imagine he would want no tears or sorrow at this time,
For Raul is truly home now.
He is together with his original family,
Gerardo & Manuelita with their 11 children at dinner as they once did in Laredo,
All sitting around that long table with much laughter & noise, Celebrating Raul’s return, I imagine a sight so tender,
With a bright light at the head of the table, I imagine it was the Lord in all His glorious splendor.
Let it be known that the
Eleventh and last child
From Manuelita & Gerardo Collazo
Has gone to his rest today.

Thanks, Bob for being the family historian. We are lucky to have you. Historians bind our past to the present. Without them, we would not know our cherished past. There is always somebody in the family or friends who does not know our legacy, therefore what has made us who we are.
