Time

Time, where does it go?
Seeing a bunch of young guys today at the gym,
Reminded me of a time when I was their age,
When I walked straighter, had a head full of hair,
No wrinkles, and maybe even walked with a little flair.

Thinking maybe these young men haven’t seen what you have,
Haven’t gone through the things you’ve gone through,
Still seeing the world a bit naively,
Through a young man’s eyes
And maybe a little bit unwise.

For it seems like only yesterday,
I was like them, but now time has taken it’s toll & slipped away,
But I’m a bit older, maybe a bit wiser,
I wouldn’t change anything in my life,
Still like my cold beer,
And thanking God for all my blessings, and that I’m still here.

  1. I’ve been considering a book for my extended collection of poems and stories, I have approximately 230 something poems and stories here on my website.
