From an old dirt road in Laredo,
To San Antonio to the Loma Park community, and many miles now
Throughout Texas, Louisiana, & everywhere we have been,
Doesn’t seem that long now in the many years I have lived,
That God has given me the opportunity to kindly fill it to the brim.
From the precious childhood I had with dear family,
To finding the love of my life,
Her blessing me with my only Son,
Lived a long, good life,
Still hanging on for the long run.
Wondering what lies ahead on this dirt road,
What other plans God has in store for me, paths will I take?
Know that I still have many beers to drink, many oceans to cross, many hunts with my Son/family/friends to make.
For life has been good, & like living in the shade of a big oak tree,
So, I’ll just leave it to God to keep me well, and out of stormy seas.

Great meeting you today Mr. Collazo. I will reach out to Mr. Vega so you can both meet. A poetry slam at HC would be great. you can share your experiences with the students.
Pleasure was all mine, Dave, and please call me Bob. I feel so old when someone calls me the mister word.
I’m still not sure about the poetry slam but would not mind speaking to the students; anything to give back to my dear Holy Cross.
Hey Bobby, There’s something about photographs that I find interesting and beautiful. They bring memories of yesteryears. Beautiful memories of younger years, and a desire to travel back in time.
I have renamed the camera as The Time Freezer (congelador del tiempo).
Thank you, Javier! Dad told me we came from an old dirt road in Laredo, and to never forget! I just love your sayings, by the way! Love you
