Pastor Stan

I always say that God puts us where
He wants us to be.
My fondest of pleasures
In the long life I have lived
Is from meeting and making new friends.

Getting to know one such good friend today,
He was telling me of his early life, said he had a very short career
In the ROTC at Burbank High, due to his short temper.
Which seemed odd at the time he told me,
For he is now a Pastor and a Man of God.

I told him I met my future wife at a Sunny Ozuna dance in Laredo years ago,
Got her number and asked to go skating the next day,
But who would have known
That she would fall skating and I would meet her Mom at a hospital?
Only God, and I thank Him every day for my blessings.

Pastor Stan was telling me he got introduced and met his future wife Through his Mom one night,
Said that a few weeks later,
He saw her at a dance, It just felt right, and he’s glad,
For he thanks God now every day for the beautiful life of gold he’s had; and I thank God for putting Pastor Stan and I together.
