It started last week
When a heart scan showed too high a score.
Now my brother, the heart doctor, has me carefully sitting down on the couch,
No physical activity, just looking pretty, so not the heart to wreak,
To await further tests next week.
Now my dear old Dad would always say,
“No más Dios savé¨ meaning that only God knows when he will call.
However not quite ready to let go of the beauty of life,
To say goodbye, to bid adieu,
But of course, we must be ready to go when when God calls for you.

Well, a couple of weeks has gone by, and it turns out,
More tests on my heart reveal that I’m apparently okay.
Maybe those recent chest pains were just a warning, a bell,
To make sure I keep working on good health, and keep getting well.
