Shaun

Shaun’s favorite pastime is to be out fishing and on the lake,
He likes relaxing, and listening to the water slap against his boat.
However, let there be no mistake, that his two sons and wife,
For sure, are his greatest joys in his life.

Shaun’s life’s work is to serve and protect the public during the day.
For he is a great USDA Investigator, that draws much praise.
Many think that Shaun is quiet and reserved,
But if you know him well, you’ve seen his wit, his humor, along with all the jokes he plays.

Shaun also loves helping people in need.
He is always looking to assist someone that may be less fortunate than he.
We can only assume that the Man upstairs already knows;
That he is looking out for his fellow man, we can guarantee.

Now most folks don’t know that back in ’88,
While assigned to the Army’s 82 Airborne elite,
Shaun was badly injured on a mission in Honduras that was very discrete, I recall.
So now, this Veteran’s Day, you’ll know, that we at the USDA, have a war hero amongst us after all.

Robert Collazo, 11/8/09.

Special Note: Let us remember and keep in our prayers the families of the fallen soldiers this week in Fort Hood.

Also, not only do I honor our colleague Shaun for his service to our country in the above tribute, but a special thanks to all our US Veterans this week on Veteran’s Day.  We salute you!
