Wife and I got invited to a great Bunco Club recently,
We were sorry to find that our hostest, Hilda, had a spell of bad health lately;
But the Lord knew she had all her friends praying for her, her chances slim,
But Hank, her husband, helping with Hilda’s every need and whim, we applaud;
Of course, the Lord had other plans for her, so she pulled through, thank God.
Friends for sixty-something years,
Josey and Anita
Through much laughter and some tears,
Husbands Jorge & Ray both in Military in the same base close by
Then Postal Workers through rain or shine
Their kids, and even grandkids now all have served their country so fine.
All beautiful people there, each with big beautiful smiles,
Getting together for bunco parties every month for 50-something years,
Husbands with a life-time of stories, at times giggles and laughter from the wives,
After a lifetime of busy careers, taking the good with the bad, and sometimes much strife,
Raised their kids and now enjoying a bit of good old fashion real life.
Another very interesting find was that one of the members, Jorge, personally knew and had gone to school with some of my Mother-in-Law’s family, growing up, while in school with them, in Laredo, Texas! It shows that we truely live in a smaill world! What a blessing to find that someone from way back then knew my dear Mom-in-Law, Felicitas.
Thanks for including us in your great Bunco Club,
God bless all of you!
