Always thanking the Lord,
For putting me where I’m supposed to be,
I recall meeting my brothers back at Holy Cross High,
Where there was one guy in our group that had a special sense of humor.
For it was Armando always acting silly, being a clown,
Making us laugh, when I looked around.
Remembering a very special fund raising event we did,
Where Armando and I collected cans of food stuff we gathered,
We raised more food together
Than the entire student body, just the two of us,
We then delivered the food to special families on Thanksgiving,
Oh how special that was.
Then, like all of us after graduation,
We went our separate ways, and lost touch for years.
Now recently after retirement & reconnecting,
We started getting together,
I found that we still had things in common,
Still the same guy, now grown, but a great husband to his wife, and the best & loving Dad to his beautiful kids;
Armando still has that spontaneous wit that I recall,
Being a good friend to all, apparently for the long haul.
I thank the good Lord that He’s blessed me
With special, life-long friends, like Armando.
Thanks for being a good friend, Brother.
