This is dedicated to my old friend Sam Rocha, Holy Cross Class of ‘69
Sammy, you lived up the street on Willie Drive when my brothers and I lived on 38th.
We were together in the Cub Scouts and I remember our motto to be the best.
You were in the class before me at Holy Cross, still striving in life’s quest,
I remember you were a good guy then, and know you’ve been one for sure;
Then after high school, life got in the way, and I lost track of you in life’s detour.
My brother Frank told me you had a beautiful wife with great kids & grandkid.
Even though I didn’t know you well in later years,
I’m sure when your family needed you, your love & kindness were always there for them.
Sammy, thinking of you and the sweet moral character you had as a kid playing with me up the street,
I’m sure now you’re with your sweetheart and the Lord at your side, totally complete.
