So good to talk to Primo Carlos today,
Funny how our connection is still strong
Even after not talking in a while
Can’t describe it in any other way
That fact that we’re family, no denying.
For you see Carlos didn’t grow up with us
But was there at those critical years of my life
In my special teenage years
Where he lived with us for a time in our magical little house on 38th Street
When life was sweet and pure there and very complete.
With all my cousins it seems,
We have that special bond
That neither time or space takes away
When we spoke today, he brought it all back again,
To those good times my brothers, and I had with him back then.
He told me of his dream last night
The one where we were all together in that magical house on 38th,
There with his Mom together my Mom & Dad and all of us
Having those one of kind times laughing and joking;
The special kind of times we don’t seem to have here lately.
So good to talk to you today, Carlos,
But especially on this being your special day today.
